About these terms

Chirper is an independent project operated from Canada, not an incorporated company. In these terms, "Chirper," "we," "us," and "our" mean the people operating the project. You can contact us at [email protected].

These terms apply to the Chirper Discord bot, chirper.app, the browser app at /web, its installable PWA, the desktop overlay, server dashboards, and related support services. By accessing or using Chirper, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the service. You must have authority to accept these terms for any organization or server you represent.

Chirper is independent of Discord, Roblox, and other platforms referenced in the service. It is not their official product or endorsed by them. Your use of Discord is also governed by Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines. These terms do not override the rules of another platform.

Eligibility and your Discord account

You must be at least 13, meet Discord's minimum age for your country or region, and meet any higher minimum required by applicable law. If you cannot enter a binding agreement yourself, a parent or legal guardian must agree on your behalf where required. Do not use Chirper if your access has been restricted unless the restriction is lifted or the relevant appeal process permits access.

Use only a Discord account you are authorized to control. Protect that account and your devices, and report suspected unauthorized use promptly. You are responsible for the actions and content you submit or authorize. We never require you to send us your Discord password or personal account token. Sign in through the official Discord authorization flow.

Access depends on factors including server membership, assigned roles, configured channels, and the server's web or desktop settings. Membership or possession of a link does not guarantee access to every feature. Do not bypass permission checks or use another account to evade restrictions.

What Chirper provides

Chirper provides social features for Discord communities, including roleplay profiles, posts, replies, feeds, follows, reactions, bookmarks, notifications, and account collaboration. Features can be accessed through Discord or supported web and desktop clients. Availability and limits depend on the release, your permissions, and the server's configuration.

Roleplay names, profiles, badges, and community notes do not guarantee a person's real identity, an endorsement, or the accuracy of a statement. Fictional content must remain distinguishable from misleading impersonation or an attempt to deceive someone about a real person or organization.

The "Dark Web" feature and onion-style identifiers are fictional presentation features within Chirper. They do not provide a Tor service, end-to-end encryption, or protection from moderation. Anonymous posting changes how content is presented to other users; it does not make the author unidentifiable to Chirper.

Chirper is free and does not accept payments or offer paid subscriptions. We may update, limit, replace, or retire features. Downloads and integrations are subject to platform availability.

Server administration and collaboration

Server administrators must have authority to install or configure Chirper and choose appropriate channels, roles, permissions, and settings. They are responsible for their server's additional rules and for explaining enabled features to members, including anonymous posting, web access, and account or role bindings.

Depending on configuration, roles can grant access to an account or verification features. Losing a role, leaving a server, or changing a binding can remove access. Server administrators can restrict individual users or roles; a server blacklist can prevent use through both the bot and web or app clients. Server-specific decisions are separate from restrictions imposed by Chirper.

Invite collaborators only when you want them to act as the selected account. Accept an invitation only if you are authorized to do so. Collaborator or role-bound access can allow posting and other supported actions under that account's name. Account owners should review access and remove people who no longer need it. Removing access does not automatically undo earlier posts or actions.

Never publish a support code, session credential, or other access secret. Share support codes only with authorized Chirper staff through the intended support process.

Acceptable use

Follow applicable law, Discord's rules, these terms, and the rules of the server where you use Chirper. Do not:

• Harass, threaten, exploit, stalk, or target people with hateful conduct.
• Publish private information without authority, distribute intimate material without consent, or impersonate others deceptively.
• Post sexual content involving minors, exploitative material, or other content prohibited by law or Discord's safety rules.
• Violate another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other rights.
• Distribute malware, run scams, steal credentials, or promote illegal transactions.
• Flood feeds or channels, spam mentions or invitations, manipulate activity deceptively, or overwhelm the service with excessive requests.
• Evade moderation, restrictions, rate limits, or other access controls.
• Access other people's accounts or records without permission, scrape personal information, or misuse data obtained through Chirper.
• Interfere with infrastructure, exploit vulnerabilities to harm users, or use automation that disrupts the service or violates platform rules.

Calling content fictional, anonymous, a joke, or part of the Dark Web feature does not excuse a violation. If you discover a security issue, report it privately to [email protected] and avoid accessing or sharing more information than needed to explain it.

Your content and permission to operate the service

You retain any ownership rights you have in content you submit. You must have the rights and permissions needed to post it, including permission to share images, screenshots, and personal information about others. Do not assume that content is safe to share simply because it came from a game, a private server, or a collaborator.

You grant the people operating Chirper a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, store, copy, process, format, transmit, and display your content as needed to provide and maintain the features you use. This includes delivery through our service providers and Discord; post cards, feeds, previews, and notifications; and handling reports, support, and authorized moderation. This permission does not transfer ownership or authorize unrelated commercial use of your content.

Content can be visible in configured channels, supported clients, and public profile or post link previews. Server membership checks do not make every shared link preview private. People and services can copy, screenshot, cache, or redistribute material they see. Do not publish confidential information through Chirper.

The permission continues only as needed to provide these functions, complete deletion, handle legitimate safety or legal matters, or retain information as described in our Privacy Policy. Deleting content does not recall copies already delivered to other people or independently retained by Discord.

Third-party links

Links, media hosts, downloads, and other third-party services have their own terms and privacy practices. An external link is not an endorsement by Chirper.

Reports, restrictions, and appeals

We may review reports, remove or limit content, revoke account access, restrict users or servers, and take other proportionate steps to enforce these terms, comply with law, or protect people and the service. Urgent safety or security issues can require action without advance notice. We do not review every submission before publication or guarantee a particular response time or moderation outcome.

Report content through available report controls, email [email protected], or contact our support Discord. Include relevant identifiers or links and a clear explanation. Do not repost harmful material or publicly expose private information to make a report.

If your account is restricted by Chirper, use the restriction appeal page where available, or contact us if you cannot access it. Explain the decision you dispute and provide relevant context. We can apply limits to repeated or abusive submissions. An appeal does not automatically lift a restriction or guarantee reinstatement.

Server moderators and Discord make their own decisions. Contact the relevant server team about a local blacklist or server rule, and Discord about platform enforcement. Our review does not override their authority.

Chirper materials and rights complaints

Chirper's branding, original interface, and other project materials remain the property of their respective rights holders. Third-party software and assets remain subject to their own licenses. Using Chirper does not grant ownership of these materials or permission to misrepresent an affiliation with the project.

Send copyright or other rights complaints to [email protected]. Identify the work or right involved, the content and where it appears, why you believe it infringes, your authority to act, and a way to contact you. We may request additional information and take appropriate action under applicable law. Do not submit knowingly false complaints.

Privacy and service communications

Our Privacy Policy explains Discord authorization, user content, cookies, local device features, service providers, retention, and your rights. Acceptance of these terms does not replace any separate consent legally required for optional processing.

Chirper can send notifications and operational messages connected to the features you use, including invitations, account access changes, and support responses. Use the available notification settings and Discord controls to manage them. Some security, access, or support messages may still be needed to operate those features.

Availability and limits of responsibility

Chirper may be unavailable or behave incorrectly because of maintenance, bugs, changes to Discord, provider outages, lost permissions, or other events. Features and limits can change, and preview features may be incomplete. Keep independent copies of content you need to retain.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available," without a guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure in every circumstance, or suitable for every purpose. We do not control content or conduct independently managed by users, server operators, Discord, or other third parties.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the people operating Chirper are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, willful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. These terms preserve mandatory consumer protections and other non-waivable rights.

Ending access and deleting information

You may stop using Chirper at any time, sign out, revoke its Discord authorization, or uninstall a client. An authorized server administrator may remove the bot. These actions do not automatically delete all stored profiles, posts, support requests, reports, or appeals.

Use available deletion controls or follow the privacy request process for broader deletion. Account deletion can remove content and collaborator access and may be irreversible. Removing access alone does not recall already shared content.

We may suspend or terminate access for violations, legal requirements, or a reasonable need to protect the service and its users. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and a way to challenge it. If we discontinue Chirper, we will provide notice where reasonably possible and handle remaining personal information under the Privacy Policy. Provisions that need to apply after access ends, including responsibility for earlier conduct and legally permitted liability limits, continue to apply.

Changes, disputes, and contact

We may revise these terms and update the date above. Material changes will be communicated through appropriate service channels with reasonable notice where required. Changes apply going forward, and we will seek renewed agreement where required by law. If you do not accept revised terms, stop using Chirper before they take effect.

These terms are governed by applicable Canadian law, subject to mandatory protections under the laws where you live. Disputes may be resolved through the courts with jurisdiction under applicable law. These terms do not require you to give up a legally protected right to bring a claim in an appropriate court or before a regulator, or require private arbitration.

If a provision cannot be enforced, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent lawful. A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive it. These terms govern use of Chirper alongside any clearly disclosed additional terms for a particular feature and do not override mandatory law.
